We've made it half a year, folks!!!
With the utmost appreciation, I want to thank you all for your support over this last half a year. It's officially been 6 months since the store opened on June 1st, and so much has happened and changed since then - All for the better!
I'm continuing the get my feet under me and hope I get better a this every day. Product stock has grown, the online sales through TCGPlayer have blown the earlier days out of the water, and I'm finally learning how to schedule events so they don't completely implode on eachother.
Here's some quick bullet points of the store's growth since that time:
- Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Digimon (of all things) have continued to grow in population, with a spare new player or two most weeks. Digimon sprang out of absolutely nowhere with a 19-player tournament on a random Sunday locals, and Yu-Gi-Oh reached 15-16 participants almost every week!
- Stock is finally here. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and even some MtG finally have stock on the shelves that persists for more than 12 hours. I've also been able to keep up on most Asmodee board games too! One Piece has finally hit the store, and while the booster boxes are in short supply everywhere, I have enough starter decks to get everyone going :) One Piece will hit the event schedule on Sunday afternoons alongside Vanguard.
- Our D&D nights (Particularly 7 PM) have grown, and cycle through a population of about 16 different folk. Of course the recent weeks have been a bit slow with the holidays, but things for RPG's should be back in swing here after Christmas
- The singles collection has reached about 75k cards inventoried, and I imagine we'll be hitting 100k before long. I have received SO MUCH help on this task in the form of volunteer work and store credit trades, and these folk are simply irreplacable. Thank you to all you!
Here's some points about how the store will be changing moving forward:
- D&D Thursday nights will slowly change into RPG Thursday nights. We want to encourage more alternatives to D&D on the tabletop, such as Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, or even GURPS! Keep and eye out on the Discord for when I plan to run my own Cyberpunk campaign :)
- Board Game Day will hit the schedule soon. We're looking at either Friday nights or Sunday afternoons! If you have any preference, please email me at store@bowtiegames.com, or reach out to me on the Discord!
- We will be collaborating again with Speedrobo Games to do another Demo Day!! We'll once again feature System Gate, Digimon, One Piece, and more! This event should come sometime in January, so keep an ear out on that one too.
That about sums it up!
Not too much to note on this post, i just wanted to write a quick little celebration and sincerely thank everyone again. It's because of you all that I'm able to live this fantastic dream!
And of course, as always, a small plug to my donation page for the store.
Another post should be coming soon with some holiday details!
Best to you all,
Greyson
